After breakfast it is time to pack up camp before setting off to explore the area of Cape Bedford including some 4WD-ing across the dunes.
Late morning we leave the area and head to Cooktown for a pub lunch and a visit on Grassy Hill Lookout. Continuing south we stop to see the Black Mountains, an interesting formation of granite rocks and with great importance to the local Aboriginal people, as a place with many legends. We turn off the main highway and drive along the Bloomfield Track (4×4 only) down to the Daintree National Park, with a visit at Lions Den a historical pub built in 1875.
The Daintree Rainforest is a UNESCO listed site and the oldest rainforest in the world. Arrive at our rainforest hideaway mid afternoon and enjoy a walk through the rainforest, a swim in a freshwater creek or relax in your glamping accommodation. The rest of the afternoon is at leisure. Enjoy a BBQ dinner in the evening before getting a good night sleep. (B,L,D)
