Our adventure includes some four-wheel driving along the Bloomfield Track, with a number of creek crossings, spectacular scenery of the Coral Sea and rainforest covered mountain range. The section between Cape Tribulation and Cooktown offers a true off-the-beaten-track experience and various highlights such as a stop at the iconic and historical Lions Den Pub, the mysterious Black Mountains or a side track to Archer Point.

Continue your Cairns to Cooktown Tour and head for Laura. If conditions allow we travel to Laura via the Battle Camp Track, offering a true taste of Cape York. Laura is famous for its ancient and magnificent Aboriginal Rock Art.

Return to Cairns via the inland road and experience the great Aussie Outback. On the way count kangaroos and enjoy the changing scenery of the bush.

Travel from Cairns through the Outback via Laura to Cape Bedford, a popular and remote camping spot. The area is known for its picturesque setting, stunning beach, sand dunes and dazzling Colored Sands.

Explore the local area by 4WD, drive on the beach, walk up onto the sand dunes and visit the Hope Vale Arts and Cultural Centre. 

This option is for those looking to get a bit more off-the-beaten-track, with some rugged 4WD-ing and a water’s edge Aussie camping experience. 

Return to Cairns via the Bloomfield Track with a stops in Cooktown, Lions Den and a glamping experience in the Daintree National Park.

SAMPLE ITINERARY

Depart Cairns early morning and drive north along the beautiful Great Barrier Reef Drive. With views of the Coral Sea and the mountains covered in dense tropical rainforest this drive is among one of the most spectacular in Australia. Stop in at Port Douglas for a coffee and stroll through this small town. Next stop is the Daintree River where you will take a guided cruise along the river and keep an eye out for salties basking in the sun. Once back on dry land we continue to the Daintree National Park, a UNESCO listed site and the oldest rainforest in the world. Arrive at our destination early afternoon, enjoy lunch and relax in your glamping accommodation. The rest of the afternoon is at leisure. Take a nature walk through the rainforest, visit the beach or have a swim in a freshwater waterhole. Enjoy a BBQ dinner in the evening before getting a good night sleep. (B,L,D)

This morning we travel north into the Bloomfield, where a 4 x 4 vehicle is required. Drive through Wujal Wujal, a former mission and Aboriginal community, with our next stop being Lions Den a historical pub built in 1875, portraying an authentic Australian Outback atmosphere. Further see the Black Mountains, an interesting formation of granite rocks and with great importance to the local Aboriginal people, as a place with many legends. Travel to Archer Point, a point overlooking the sea with fantastic views of the coral sea and an old lighthouse. Arrive in Cooktown, discovered by Captain Cook during a forced stop due to damage to his ship “Endeavour”, late afternoon. Check in at our hotel and free time. (B,L)

Relax this morning and explore Cooktown in your own time. We depart just after lunch and drive to the township of Laura. Laura is known for the unique, diverse and ancient Aboriginal rock art and we will take a short walk to see these presented among the sand escarpments.

Return to Cairns via the inland highway through the Outback. Arrive in Cairns late afternoon. (B)

SAMPLE ITINERARY

Depart Cairns early morning and travel through the Aussie Outback to Laura with some comfort stops en route. Laura is famous for its ancient and magnificent Aboriginal Rock Art, the largest collection of prehistoric rock art in the world. After a walk to admire the rock art galleries we continue our journey to Cape Bedford. If conditions allow we travel via the Battle Camp Track, offering a true taste of Cape York. Arrive at Elim Beach campground late afternoon and after setting up our camp explore the nearby dunes and colored sands. Enjoy the rest of the afternoon and relax on the beach or at the camp, while dinner is prepared by your guide. (B,L,D)

After breakfast it is time to pack up camp before setting off to explore the area of Cape Bedford including some 4WD-ing across the dunes.

Late morning we leave the area and head to Cooktown for a pub lunch and a visit on Grassy Hill Lookout. Continuing south we stop to see the Black Mountains, an interesting formation of granite rocks and with great importance to the local Aboriginal people, as a place with many legends. We turn off the main highway and drive along the Bloomfield Track (4×4 only) down to the Daintree National Park, with a visit at Lions Den a historical pub built in 1875.

The Daintree Rainforest is a UNESCO listed site and the oldest rainforest in the world. Arrive at our rainforest hideaway mid afternoon and enjoy a walk through the rainforest, a swim in a freshwater creek or relax in your glamping accommodation. The rest of the afternoon is at leisure. Enjoy a BBQ dinner in the evening before getting a good night sleep. (B,L,D)

Enjoy a lazy morning. Take a nature walk, a refreshing morning swim or sleep in. After breakfast we head towards Cairns with stops at one of the stunning beaches in the Daintree, Alexandra Lookout and a local fruit farm where you will try their organic ice cream as well as a guided cruise along the Daintree River. Keep an eye out for saltwater crocs chilling out on the banks.

From here it is time to head back to Cairns, with a final stop in Port Douglas if time allows. Arrive in Cairns late afternoon. (B,L)

Clients traveling with No Limit Adventures are made aware of any risks related to participating in activities on tour and the availability of medical and evacuation services, especially when traveling in remote areas, however participate at their own risk. Although safety is No Limit Adventures’ primary priority no responsibility will be taken for any accident, injury, loss or misfortune while on any trip. As an Inbound Tour Operator No Limit Adventures will use the services of local tour, transport and accommodation operators/ providers. In cases where the contracted 3rd party fails to provide the service No Limit Adventures will do everything possible to organize an alternate to fill this part of the tour. Any losses in such cases can be claimed on personal travel insurance, but No Limit Adventures cannot be held accountable, responsible or liable for any associated losses. Payment for a trip means the client understands and accepts these conditions.

  • 40% deposit required at the time of booking (if more than 31 days out from tour commencement), $300 is non-refundable
  • Full payment required no later than 21 days prior to tour commencement
  • Cancellations made inside 21 days of tour commencement will incur a 100% cancellation fee
  • Cancellations made 22 – 31 days of travel will incur a 50% cancellation fee
  • No refunds in case of no show
