Taste native Australian fruits

Our private Cairns food tour features new and unique local businesses in Far North Queensland. Start the day with a visit to a local fruit orchard. Learn about and taste the fruit grown on the property and hear the story of why the owners have chosen to grow native rainforest species. Enjoy a light morning tea while sampling some of the products.

Enjoy lunch at a Biodynamic Organic Farm

After morning tea and tasting of the fruits, locally produced wine and possibly some kombucha we make our way a short distance to Mungalli Dairy Cafe for lunch and an introduction to Mungalli’s biodynamic and organic dairy products. Enjoy a tasting platter and lunch with a view of the Tablelands and Queensland’s highest mountain, Mt. Bartle Frere.

Crater Mountain Coffee tour

Crater Mountain Coffee is the highest coffee plantation in Australia and the next stop on our Cairns Tablelands tasting tour. Meet Lucy, the owner and passionate coffee grower. Hear about Lucy’s story, see the coffee plantation and try a sample of her high-altitude Tablelands coffee.

Enjoy the views while sampling award-winning tropical wines

If the day has caught up to you and you need a nap, now is the time. Our next stop is De Brueys Boutique Winery, located just outside of Mareeba. As we drive to De Brueys enjoy the landscape of the Cairns Highlands and the passing small towns of the Atherton Tablelands. De Brueys is a boutique winery established in the late 90’s and produces tropical fruit wines, showcasing the local fruit grown in the Mareeba area.

Stop in at a brewery for a paddle of craft beer

We are nearing the end of our Cairns Tablelands tasting tour, but the final stop is a special one. After a hard day of tasting amazing local products it is fair to say everyone has earned a beer, or two. Our final stop for the day is one of Cairns’ premier microbreweries, Macalister Brewing Co. Established in 2017 Macalister’s Brewery is a hidden gem located in one of Cairns’ northern suburbs and is a favorite meeting place with locals. Enjoy a tasting paddle of Macalister’s finest craft beers overlooking the cane fields and, possibly, have a chat with the brewer himself.
